ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women's volleyball team is back in Erie this weekend for a pair of home matches after playing 16 of their first 18 matches on the road this season.
Coach
Matt Darling's Golden Knights enter the weekend on a hot streak after winning their past six matches, including five matches in a row on the road. Gannon is in first place in the PSAC West with a 5-0 record and carries a 13-5 overall mark.
The Golden Knights will host a pair of teams that they have had success against in the past. Gannon will welcome California (Pa.) on Saturday at noon at the Hagerty Family Events Center's Joann Mullen Gymnasium. On Sunday at 2 p.m., Gannon will host Slippery Rock at Mullen Gymnasium.
Gannon won both matches against California and Slippery Rock last season, but the Golden Knights had to rally for five-set wins against both Cal and SRU in one match last season. The Vulcans enter with a nine-match losing streak and are 0-6 in the PSAC West. The Rock has lost 28 consecutive matches against the Knights since 2008.
