Gannon volleyball team will visit Seton Hill, California on consecutive days this weekend

Golden Knights look to boost PSAC West record after loss to Clarion ended eight-match winning streak

ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon University volleyball team will head back on the road Friday hoping to start a new winning streak.

Gannon had an eight-match winning streak snapped in a loss to fellow PSAC power Clarion on Saturday. The Golden Knights will look to bounce back on Friday at 7 p.m. when they visit Seton Hill followed by a 5 p.m. match on Saturday against California (Pa.).

Cal will host Edinboro on Friday night before Gannon visits the Vulcans.

HEAD COACHES

Matt Darling, Gannon: He has a 388-141 record in 17 seasons as the Gannon women's volleyball coach. He has led the Golden Knights to 13 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, and the team has advanced to the D-II Elite Eight in four of the past five NCAA Tournaments, including two Final Four berths.

Rick Hall, Seton Hill: Hall is in his 39th season with the team. He has compiled more than 750 career victories with the Griffins.

Peter Letourneau, California: He is in his 13th season with the Vulcans and has a 238-130 record. He is the winningest coach in program history.

Gannon:

Journey Blevins (Richwood, Ohio/North Union): The junior outside hitter paces Gannon with 192 kills and 212 points and had a team-high 17 kills in Saturday's four-set loss to Clarion.

Madde Blake (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central): The senior outside hitter had a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs against Clarion.

Marta Roicka (Warsaw, Poland/North Central Texas Academy): The redshirt junior setter had 36 assists and 12 digs on Saturday.

Emma Hall (Lowell, Mich./Lowell): The junior libero paces Gannon with 221 digs on the season, including a match-high 21 against Clarion on Saturday.
 

Seton Hill:

Paige Cole: The junior outside hitter is the Griffins' team leader with 193 kills and 139 digs. She had a season-high 28 kills against Frostburg St.

Abby Oesterling: The junior setter paces Seton Hill with 330 assists.

Catie Flohr: The freshman middle hitter leads Seton Hill with 30 total blocks and ranks second on the team with 120 kills.

 
California:

Elisa Rugiero: She was an All-PSAC Second Team pick in 2022. Rugiero leads Cal with 113 kills and has been in double digits in kills in all but one match. She also has 109 digs and 21 total blocks.

Rachel Simon: The junior setter is Cal's primary setter with 260 assists.

Emily Buwawa: The senior defensive specialist paces the Vulcans with 132 digs.
