Dom Means (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) claimed a decision in one of the pivotal matches during the Golden Knights' impressive victory over Lake Erie College in its home opener on Saturday.
As a result, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selected the redshirt senior as the PSAC Wrestling Athlete of the Week.
Means handed unbeaten Jack Haskin his first loss of the season in the 157-pound match on Saturday as No. 9 Gannon rolled to a 27-12 victory over No. 19 Lake Erie College at the Gannon Recreation and Wellness Center.
Means entered the match as the No. 5 wrestler in the NWCA Division II 157-pound rankings, while Haskin was No. 14 in the Open Mat rankings. Means claimed a 6-4 win over Haskin after getting takedowns in the first and second periods. He added two escapes.
Means improved to 9-2 on the season. He was a 2019-20 NWCA All-American and a 2021-22 National Qualifier.
