GREENSBURG, PA – The Gannon University women's volleyball team ran its PSAC West winning streak to six matches on Saturday afternoon with a three-set sweep of Seton Hill at the Katherine Mabis McKenna Center.
Gannon won by scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 as they swept a conference opponent for the second consecutive day and the fourth time in six PSAC West matches.
The Golden Knights (12-4 overall) moved to 6-0 in the PSAC West and remained in a first-place tie with preseason conference favorite Clarion. The Knights and Golden Eagles will meet in a first-place showdown on Friday at the Highmark Events Center.
Seton Hill dropped to 10-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
Sophomore outside hitter
Sam Deinek (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon East) led with Gannon's attack again as she had 11 kills one day after she collected a team-high 17 kills in a sweep at Slippery Rock on Friday.
Junior outside hitter
Madde Blake (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central) had a solid all-around match Saturday with nine kills, nine digs, four aces, two blocks and a team-high 14 points.
Sophomore right side
Hailey Koch (Littleton, Col./Dakota Ridge) had eight kills and three blocks, freshman setter
Bengisu Arslan (Ankara, Turkey)Â dished out 30 assists, and sophomore libero
Emma Hall (Lowell, Mich./Lowell) led Gannon with 11 digs.
Gannon will prepare for a pair of big weekend home matches. The Golden Knights will host Clarion on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by IUP on Saturday at 2 p.m.
