HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon jumped on the board early as Nicole Bush (Painesville, Ohio/Lake Catholic) hit a triple into left center before scoring on a sacrifice fly ball to right by Maria Taliani (Cheswick, Pa./Deer Lakes) to take the 1-0 lead in the first.
  • Kaity Stocker (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) recorded her 29th career homerun in the home half of the fourth with a two-run shot into left field to make it 3-0.
  • The Golden Knights added an insurance run to the board after taking advantage of a throwing error by the third baseman to bring home Lily Gfeller (Livonia, N.Y./Livonia).
  • Slippery Rock ended the shutout with a two-run homer into right center to make it 4-2 in favor of Gannon but a groundout to second ended the threat to secure a 4-2 victory.
GAME NOTES
  • Gannon tallied seven hits with three RBI as seven Golden Knights posted hits against Slippery Rock.
  • With her 29th career homerun, Kaity Stocker (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) became the program's career homerun leader passing Joanna Fergus (2003-06).

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Slippery Rock took an early 1-0 in game two as Cami Hoffman hit an infield single before scoring on a hit into left by Cami Fisk.
  • The Rock doubled their lead in the third with a solo homerun by Fisk but was immediately responded with six runs by the Golden Knights.
  • With runners on first and second, Lyndsey Lakatos (Allison Park, Pa./Shaler Area) smoked a ball into right center to bring two runs across the plate to even the score before Kristina DeMatteis (Boyers, Pa./Moniteau) and Megan Dietrick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Mt. Lebanon) hit back-to-back homeruns to make it 6-2 sealing the series sweep.
GAME NOTES
  • Megan Dietrick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Gannon's offense while Kristina DeMatteis (Boyers, Pa./Moniteau) recorded a season-high three RBI.
