Deinek, McClung Lead Gannon in Win Over Walsh on Tuesday

ERIE, Pa. – Gannon got back in the win column on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 sweep over Walsh University (25-18, 25-13, 25-14) in nonconference action at the Hammermill Center. The win is Gannon's 16th of the season as the Golden Knights improved to 16-4 on the year.

"Tonight's win brought a sense of relief to our entire team," said GU head volleyball coach Matt Darling. "We've had a couple matches in a row where we struggled to get on the ball offensively, so to get through tonight's match with no reception errors, it really gave us the opportunity to set up and play on offense.

"Sam Deinek (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon East) and Ashley McClung (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) performed at a high level tonight, leading the team on offense and really limiting their error counts."
