HOW IT HAPPENED

Obenrader and Mitchell responded with four straight points for the Knights. With 5:38 on the clock, Myers hit a jumper to tie the game opening the door for Griggs to take the lead for IUP with a layup. Obenrader and Margo Loutzenhiser (Russell, Pa./Warren Area) found success from the arc on back-to-back threes forcing the third lead change. IUP responded with a 5-0 run for their final edge of the quarter, which was erased by a pair of three throws from Poling. Gannon led 38-37 at the end of three.
- In another back-and-forth quarter, IUP found an advantage midway through with an 8-0 run sparked by a free throw from Lovelace. Her free throw knotted the game 46-46 and the run led the Crimson Hawks to a seven point lead. A free throw from Mitchell with 31 seconds left got the Knights within three, but fouls down the stretch led to an IUP win from the free throw line. The Crimson Hawks swept the series with a 59-54 win over the Knights.
