Men's Water Polo Announces 2020 Schedule To Be Played In Spring 2021

ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon men's water polo team announced an adjusted 2020 conference schedule that will be played in the 2021 spring semester. The schedule includes two conference weekends and one home contest before postseason play.
 
The limited schedule will follow all guidance from Gannon University's Return To Campus Plan, Gannon Athletics' Return To Play Plan, the NCAA's Resocialization of Collegiate Sport, and all state and local government regulations.
 
The Golden Knights will open play at Mount St. Mary's with a pair of games on Feb. 6. Gannon will start the season with a 2 p.m. game vs. crosstown rival Mercyhurst. The Knights will wrap up the weekend with a 6 p.m. game vs. host Mount St. Mary's.
 
Gannon will head to Salem the following weekend with two more slated games. First on the schedule is Salem on Feb. 13 with a 3 p.m. start time. The Knights will play McKendree at 7 p.m. to conclude the invitational.
 
Before heading into the postseason, Gannon will host Washington and Jefferson for its final regular season game. The teams will meet on Feb. 20 at the Hallman Aquatics Center for a 1 p.m. start.
 
The MAWPC-West Championship will be hosted Feb. 27-28 by Mercyhurst at the Hallman Aquatics Center. The teams will be seeded according to their records during the regular season tournaments and announced prior to the start of the championship. The top two finishers will advance to the MAWPC Championship hosted by the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland beginning March 6.
