HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Goalkeeper Kennedy Solymosi (Eastlake, Ohio/Lake Catholic) faced her only shot on goal from the Golden Eagles at the 6:09 mark of the first half. She made the save and did not see another shot on goal all match. The Knights defense held Clarion to just two total shots all game.
  • Bevacqua finally connected for Gannon in the 87th minute on an assist from Leah Bermudez (Milton, Ontario/Jean Vanier Catholic). This is Bevacqua's second goal of the season.

GAME NOTES
  • Gannon dominated offensively leading Clarion 16-2 in shots. Thirteen of Gannon's 16 shots were on goal. Ten of their shots came in the first 45 minutes. Both of Clarion's shots were in the first half as they failed to connect on anything in the second.
  • Bevacqua and Vanessa Coccurello (Hamilton, Ontario/St. Jean de Brebeuf) each tallied a match-high four shots. Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) added three shots with two on goal.
  • Megan McCartney (Chicora, Pa./Karns City) also took two shots, both of which were on goal.
  • This marks Gannon's second straight shutout. They beat Edinboro last week 1-0.
  • Solymosi made one save and earned her fourth shutout on the year.
  • Brigid Stermel made 12 saves in goal for the Golden Eagles.
  • The Knights continue to fight for a postseason appearance. In order to clinch a spot in the PSAC West, Gannon needs to win Saturday and Indiana needs to tie or lose in their final match. If Gannon ties and IUP loses, the Crimson Hawks win the tiebreaker.

UP NEXT
  • The Knights travel to Slippery Rock for the regular season finale.
  • The match will begin at 2:30 p.m. and live stats and video will be available.
  • Gannon fell 1-0 to the Rock earlier this season.
  • SRU has already clinched the West Division.
