HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Storm took their only lead of the game almost two minutes into the first quarter. Both teams missed their first chances from the field, but Lauren Flannery connected on a free throw to put LEC up 1-0. The Knights went on a 6-0 run to take the lead. Breanna Bauer tied the game 12-12 at the 1:41 mark, but Emily Poling's (Defiance, Ohio/Defiance) three-pointer to close the quarter gave Gannon a permanent lead.
- Gannon started the second quarter with an 8-0 lead to take their first double-digit lead of 11 points. A free throw by Josie Chaddock brought the Storm within six points midway through the quarter. A combined team effort from Gannon gave them a 38-29 lead at the break.
- The Knights poured in a season-high 30 points in the third quarter paving the way to their third win of the year. Chelsea Rourke (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) hit back-to-back from three-point range to spark Gannon's offense at the start of the second half. The Knights used a 14-0 run sparked by a fast-break layup from Tewes at the 6:59 mark to jump out to a 25 point lead. The Storm strung together a couple of baskets to get back within 19 of the Knights.
- The Knights used the fourth quarter to extend their lead and score 90 points in their second straight game of the year. Delaney Dogan (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) and Daria-Hanna Koul (Minsk, Belarus/J. Addison) gave Gannon a 27-point lead on two different occasions in the final 10 minutes.
