HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Bevacqua ripped Gannon's first goal of the game in the 29th minute on a corner kick from Hannah Manczka (Fairview, Pa./McDowell) that deflected off of Taylor Lewis (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek)
  • A little over five minutes later, Hays scored her first career goal in the 34th minute. Lewis fed the ball up-field to Emily Cekella (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley), who made a crossing pass to Hays inside the box. Hays made a diving kick that dribbled the ball past the goalkeeper and into the right side of the net.
  • Gannon finished the first half with a 5-1 advantage in shots and headed into the break ahead 2-0.
  • The Lady Knights recorded seven second-half shots before McCartney made it 3-0 in the 71st minute with a perfectly-placed header on Manczka's free kick from the left side of the field.
  • Gannon closed out the game by outshooting the Vulcans, 5-0.

GAME NOTES
  • Gannon held a commanding advantage in shots, 27-3. It was the second-most shots Gannon has recorded the season, behind Mansfield last Wednesday (29).
  • The Lady Knights also held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Danitza Indacochea (Vaughan, Ontario/St. Joan of Arc) made one save in goal in her 11th win of the season. She has registered seven shutouts this season.
  • Cal U goalkeeper Michaela Colon made 11 saves for her team in the loss.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • The contest served as the final home regular season game.
  • Gannon was undefeated in all eight home matches this season.
  • All three goals for Gannon were scored by rookies. Bevacqua and McCartney have registered three goals apiece this season, while Hays scored her first.
  • Gannon's defense allowed a season-low three shots in the win.
  • 20 Lady Knights saw time in Wednesday's victory.
  • Lewis and Manczka each recorded two assists, while Cekella had one.
  • Lewis has tallied a team-high seven assists this season, which is tied for seventh with Sammy Valloud (2015), Erin Cray (1999) and Amanda Sharbaugh (2009) in Gannon single-season history.
  • Lewis' 31st point of the season pushed her career point total to 55, which moved her into a tie with Michelle Genetin (2011-13, 15) for seventh place in the Gannon record books.
  • Indacochea recorded her eighth career shutout Wednesday, which is tied with Kelena Miller for eighth all-time at Gannon.
  • Indacochea's seven shutouts this season is second in single-season history. She needs just one more to tie the record with Sabrina Chirco (2008) and Miller (2000).
