HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Indiana (Pa.) held a 13-12 lead before extending its advantage with an 8-1 run. Anthony Glover's three-pointer gave the Crimson Hawks a 21-13 lead midway through the first half.
  • A 15-0 IUP run later in the first half bolstered the visitors' lead to 38-17 with 2:22 remaining. The Crimson Hawks' defense held the Golden Knights scoreless for six minutes and one second.
  • Overall, Gannon went 11 minutes and 11 seconds without a field goal until senior Marcus Jones (Brantford, Ontario/Athlete Institute) hit a jumper from the right baseline with 1:22 showing on the clock. The Golden Knights missed 12 straight shots and turnover the ball over seven times during the drought.
  • A lay-up by senior Matthew Dogan (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) right before the buzzer sent Gannon into the intermission with a 40-23 deficit.
  • Gannon cut the difference to 46-34 with eight straight points early in the second half. Four different players scored during the run, capped by junior Damon Miraud (Elizabeth, N.J./Elizabeth)'s lay-up at the 14:07.
  • With the crowd starting to make some noise and the deficit down to 12 points after the Miraud lay-up, IUP's Dante Lombardi drilled an open three-pointer 15 seconds later to silence the crowd and the run.
  • Gannon was never able to close within single digits the rest of the way, before junior Zay Jackson (Queens, N.Y./Westside)'s lay-up right before the final horn accounted for the final 72-62 score.
