Mourchid Lifts Golden Knights Past East Stroudsburg in Overtime

  • The Short Story: Hamza Mourchid (Hombourg-Haut, France/Poncelet) lifted the Golden Knights to a 1-0 victory with a game-winning goal in the 108th minute on Saturday (Oct. 29) night against East Stroudsburg.
     
GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER HOW IT HAPPENED
  • East Stroudsburg's Christian Bukowski took the first shot of the match in the 10th minute.
  • The match was scoreless at halftime.
  • Bukowski had several attempts late in the match to win for East Stroudsburg. In the 81st minute he took a wide open shot off a deflection that sailed high. In the 89th minute he had another shot that just sailed over the goal post.
  • In the first overtime, Hamza Mourchid (Hombourg-Haut, France/Poncelet) took the only shot of the period in the 98th minute.
  • In the 108th minute, Mourchid took an Eduardo de Bonis Encinoso (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain/Escuelas Pias Tenerife) pass along the baseline in the left corner and took an arcing shot that bent past the goalie and in to the net. It was Mourchid's 22nd goal of the season.

  • Gannon held a 14-10 edge in shots over East Stroudsburg.
  • Mourchid tallied his seventh game-winning goal of the season for Gannon.
  • Jorge Hernandez (Atvidaberg, Sweden/Bildningscentrum Facetten) pitched his fourth shutout of the season.
  • Hernandez extended his goalie record to 10-4-1.
