THE RUNDOWN

  • The Short Story: Gannon men's soccer scored three goals to move past the California (Pa.) Vulcans, 3-1, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest in Erie, Pa.
     
GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Mathias Krigbaum (Greve, Denmark/Greve Gymnasium) tallied the first goal of the match in the 33rd minute when he took a pass from Hamza Mourchid (Hombourg-Haut, France/Poncelet) and rattled it off the crossbar and into the goal.
  • Mourchid stuck his 17th goal of the season in the 38th minute, taking a Luis Driemel (Berlin, Germany/Leibniz-Schule) pass and shooting toward the right corner of the net.
  • Gannon scored its third unanswered goal with a Sergio Kobowane (Johannesburg, South Africa/King Edward VII) netter in the 67th minute. It was Kobowane's fourth of the year.
  • California (Pa.) got on the board in the 69th minute when Nick Cichon broke past the Golden Knight defense and took a shot at the goal.

  • Gannon finished with a 16-6 edge in shots.
  • Junior Jorge Hernandez (Atvidaberg, Sweden/Bildningscentrum Facetten) recorded one save for Gannon, picking up the goalie victory (8-2-1).
