HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After the third tie of the opening five minutes, Gannon scored seven consecutive points to forge ahead. Senior Tony Boykins (Kalamazoo, Mich./Loy Norrix) ignited the run with an old-fashioned three-point play. Senior Jean Yves Toupane (Dakar, Senegal/Lee (Maine) Academy) followed with consecutive baskets for a 19-12 lead with 13:02 left in the first half.
  • Seton Hill answered with a 7-0 run of its own, tying the contest at 19 on Damjan Sredanovic's three-pointer at the 11:21 mark.
  • The Griffins extended the run to 12-4 to assume a 24-21 advantage with 9:49 showing on the clock.
  • The first-half swings continued as Gannon responded with another 7-0 run to regain the lead. Freshman C.J. Asuncion-Byrd's (Greenwich, Conn./St. Thomas More) three-pointer gave the Golden Knights the lead back, before a jumper from sophomore Isaiah Eisendorf (Los Angeles, Calif./Springbrook, Md.) gave the home squad a 28-24 edge at the 6:10 mark.
  • The Gannon lead eventually sat at 38-35 entering the intermission.
  • Seton Hill took control immediately in the second half. The Griffins scored the first nine points out of the break to turn a three-point deficit into a six-point lead.
  • Gannon never got closer than four points the rest of the way.
  • Taylor's triple with 1:57 remaining gave Seton Hill its biggest lead of the evening at 69-59.
  • Eisendorf netted three points during the final 41 seconds to account for the final 69-62 score.
