HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon needed only 4:15 to score the first goal. Senior Amanda Gallant (Brampton, Ontario/Cardinal Leger SS) headed in a crossing pass from junior Bethany Perri (Valencia, Pa./Mars Area) on the right side for her first goal of the season and a 1-0 lead.
  • The Lady Knights extended their lead to 2-0 in the 18th minute. Senior Mani Brueckner (Valencia, Pa./Mars Area) initially ripped a corner kick off the post. The ball ricocheted to senior Michelle Genetin (Navarre, Ohio/Perry), who scored her third goal of the season off the rebound.
  • Indiana (Pa.) cut the deficit in half with 4:39 left in the first half. Brandie Bryant was credited with her first score of the campaign when her corner kick bounced off the goalkeeper and into the net.
  • The high-scoring first half continued 4:08 later when Brueckner gave Gannon a two-goal lead again, scoring her sixth goal of the season off an assist from junior Olivia Augustyniak (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep). This score came with only 31 seconds left in the first half.
  • The two teams then combined for only five shots during a scoreless second half, before the Lady Knights wrapped up a 3-1 victory.
