Gannon Softball Announces Schedule Changes

ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon softball team has announced multiple changes to its upcoming Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) schedule including postponements, location switches and rescheduled dates. With the alterations to the schedule, the Lady Knights will play doubleheaders in six of the next seven days.

The Gannon-Clarion doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, March 28, has been postponed until Monday, March 30, due to the cold weather forecasted for the area and unplayable field conditions. To accommodate the field issues, the Lady Knights and Golden Eagles have flipped home dates in their schedules. In doing so, the Lady Knights will host the Golden Eagles Monday, March 30, at GU Field with game one set for 2:30 p.m. Later in the season, the Lady Knights will travel to Clarion Saturday, April 18. The game time remains at 1 p.m.

Gannon has also rescheduled two of its doubleheaders that were previously postponed during the opening week of conference action between Pitt-Johnstown and Mercyhurst.

Originally set for the opening week of conference play, Gannon will now travel to Pitt-Johnstown Sunday, March 29. Game one in the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. In flipping home dates, the Lady Knights will host the Lady Cats Tuesday, April 7. The opening pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

The final change involves crosstown rival Mercyhurst. The Lady Knights will host the Lakers Wednesday, April 1, in a divisional doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.

Gannon owns an 8-5 overall record this season and 2-0 mark in PSAC West Division play following a sweep of Edinboro to open divisional play. The Lady Knights return to action Sunday, March 29, at Pitt-Johnstown. The first pitch is set for 1 p.m. Visit gannonsports.com for schedule updates.
