ERIE, Pa. – Unplayable field conditions at the Botetourt Sports Complex has forced the cancellation of the Salem Invitational in Virginia. The Gannon softball team was originally scheduled to play at the invitational March 13 and 14.
 
Gannon owns a 6-5 overall record this season following its week-long stretch at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. The Lady Knights posted a 5-1 mark against NCAA Atlantic Region competition. In addition, sophomore Jen Moran (West Mifflin, Pa. / Fox Chapel) collected Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Softball Athlete of the Week honors for her performance during the team's stay in the Sunshine State.
 
Gannon is set to open its PSAC slate at home against Pitt-Johnstown in doubleheader action March 17. The twinbill is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. followed by the nightcap.
