ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon softball team's opening weekend at the Shaw Softball Challenge Feb. 20-22, has been canceled due to inclement weather from Winter Storm Octavia. The combination of snow and ice has left the field conditions in Raleigh, N.C., unplayable to force the cancellation of the three-day event.  
 
Gannon opens the 2015 season in Clermont, Fla., at the National Training Center March 1-7. The Lady Knights will play 11 games during their stretch in the Sunshine State with the first scheduled against Ashland March 1, at 11 a.m.
