GAMEDAY MEDIA CENTER
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon jumped out to a 14-5 lead five minutes and 50 seconds into the contest. The Golden Knights scored 12 of 13 points after trailing 4-2.
  • Junior Jean Yves Toupane (Dakar, Senegal/Lee (Maine) Academy) started the run with a three-pointer. Senior Rich Austin (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) later chipped in back-to-back buckets, before senior A'Darius Porter (Stockbridge, Ga./Woodland) gave the Golden Knights a nine-point lead with a lay-up.
  • Le Moyne trimmed the deficit to 17-14, before Gannon rattled off seven consecutive points to move its lead into double digits. Sophomore Matthew Dogan (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) drained a triple, before senior Girbran Smith (Nassau, Bahamas/Seton (Ill.) Academy) and Blazek added field goals for a 24-14 lead with 7:58 left in the first half.
  • Gannon took firm control with a 12-1 run during the final 4:54 of the first half. The Dolphins went the final 5:56 without a field goal, missing all eight attempts during that time span. Smith and Dogan ended the half with back-to-back three-pointers for a 36-21 lead at the break.
  • Another triple by Smith and a tip-in by senior Raphell Thomas-Edwards (Leicester, England/The Gateway School) to open the second half pushed the Gannon advantage to 41-21.
  • Le Moyne never got closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
  • Gannon's biggest lead came at 67-45 following a lay-up by true freshman Isaiah Eisendorf (Los Angeles, Calif./Springbrook, Md.) with 50 seconds left.
