The Short Story: The Gannon women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action to No. 23 Kutztown Wednesday afternoon at Keystone Field. The two teams combined for just 14 total shots in the match, as the Lady Knights held a 9-5 shot advantage. Junior
Mani Brueckner (Valencia, Pa./Mars Area) tallied the Lady Knights' goal on an unassisted effort for her seventh of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED- The Kutztown Golden Bears earned a 1-0 lead over the Gannon Lady Knights in the 12th minute. Off a scramble in-front of the net, Alaina Curry tapped in her sixth goal of the season with Logan Kramer picking up the assist.
- Brueckner knotted the match at 1-1 just before the break. The junior capitalized on a free kick from 30 yards out, as the shot slipped off Deanna Messner's hands. The unassisted tally was Brueckner's seventh of the season.
- The Golden Bears recaptured the lead under five minutes into the second half. In the 50th minute, it would be the Golden Bears taking an advantage of a free kick. Sam Costello located a header pass from Logan Kramer off a free kick by Morgan Staley, as Costello netted her seventh goal of the season and eventual game-winner.
GAME NOTES- Freshman
Danitza Indacochea (Maple, Ontario / St. Joan of Arc) recorded one save in the second half. KU's Messner registered four saves to keep the Golden Bears' eight-game win streak intact.
- The Lady Knights had six corner attempts with three in each half. The Golden Bears were awarded four first-half attempts and zero chances in the second half.

- The Golden Bears entered the match ranked 23rd in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II National Rankings. In addition, the Golden Bears occupy the third spot on the NSCAA Atlantic Regional rankings.
