ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women's volleyball team will put its perfect 6-0 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) on the line with two matches this weekend. The Lady Knights will face Indiana (Pa.) on Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m. and California (Pa.) on Saturday, October 1 at 2 p.m.

Gannon enters the weekend after seeing its 10-match winning streak snapped by regional power Wheeling Jesuit on Tuesday. The Lady Knights dropped a four-set affair to the Cardinals by a 3-1 score.
Earlier this week Lauren Sazama (St. Louis, Mo. / Oakville) earned her second straight PSAC West Athlete of the Week Award. The junior leads the team in kills with 190 and is averaging 3.88 per set. She is also first on the team in aces (26) and second on the team in digs (154).
As a team the Lady Knights rank sixth in the country in blocks per set averaging 2.57. Claren Harris (South Milwaukee, Wis. / South Milwaukee) is ranked sixth individually with 1.39 blocks per set. In addtion, Kara Cullen (Marstons Mills, Mass. / Barnstable) and Sarah Glancy (Walled Lake, Mich. / Walled Lake Central) are both averaging better than a block per set. The trio are three of only four PSAC players with a block per set average over one.
IUP will enter the Hammermill with a 7-9 overall record and a 1-4 mark in conference matches. The Crimson Hawks have dropped six straight matches since opening PSAC play with 3-0 win over Cheyney.
On Saturday, California (Pa.) and Gannon will face off in a battle of unbeaten schools in the PSAC. The Vulcans and Lady Knights are the two remaining undefeated teams in PSAC matches. California (Pa.) has lost just two sets during conference action this season, those coming one each against Kutztown and Edinboro. The Vulcans feature six players averaging better than two kills per set, led by Brandy Harris who boasts 3.14.
