ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon volleyball team travels to California (Pa.) for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West quarterfinal Tuesday. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start at Hamer Hall.

The Lady Knights finished the regular season fourth in the PSAC Western Division, going 13-6 in conference play. GU went 22-8 overall, its best mark since 1995.
Cal went 30-5 overall and 19-0 in the PSAC. The Vulcans haven't lost a regular season league match since the 2006 campaign. They advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2008, winning the PSAC Tournament along the way.
GU led the league in service aces, while California handed out the most assists. Knight outside hitter
Lauren Sazama (St. Louis, Mo./Oakville) doled out 75 aces, most of any player in the conference.
Kara Cullen (Marstons Mills, Mass./Barnstable) averaged a PSAC-high 1.11 blocks a set. Vulcan outside hitter Joanna Nist recorded a league-leading 405 kills and setter Renata da Silva compiled 11.31 assists per set, tops in the PSAC.
Gannon is also trying to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995. The Knights are fifth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic regional rankings as of October 29. California is first. The three conference champions represented in the Atlantic gain automatic bids, with the next five highest-ranked programs receiving at-large spots.
Clarion hosts Edinboro in the other West quarterfinal. Top-seed Lock Haven hosts West Chester and Shippensburg heads to Kutztown in the Eastern Division quarters.
