ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon volleyball team faces Clarion and Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contests this weekend. The Lady Knights host Clarion Friday, October 16, at 7 p.m. and then take on Slippery Rock Saturday, October 17, at 2 p.m. The Hammermill Center will be the site for both matches.

GU stands at 17-5 overall and 8-3 in the conference. They are tied for third place in the West with Mercyhurst and Edinboro. The Knights won at Seton Hill Wednesday, October 14, in three sets.
Clarion is 20-5 overall and 10-1 in the PSAC. They lost to Juniata Tuesday, October 13. The Golden Eagles trail California (Pa.) by one game in the West.
Slippery Rock plays at Edinboro Friday, October 16, before traveling to Erie Saturday. The Rock comes into the weekend 8-15 overall and 4-7 in the league.
Gannon is off to its best start since the 2003 season, when they went 17-4 to begin the campaign. That Lady Knight team finished 21-9. The 2009 Knights are led by
Morgan Reineke (New Knoxville, Ohio/New Knoxville), who has 249 kills and 47 service aces. Senior
Maire Prybyl (Mars, Pa./North Catholic) has handed out 722 assists this year.
