ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon volleyball team lost in three games to 13th-ranked California (Pa.) Tuesday night at the Hammermill Center. The Vulcans won by scores of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-13.
The Lady Knights (3-8, 0-4) were led by a pair of freshmen.
Courtney Cook (Middleburg Heights, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) had six kills and
Alex DelPiombo (Monroe, Mich./St. Mary's Catholic Central) had 16 assists. GU led Cal (16-0, 5-0) 8-6 in the first set of the night before the Vulcans took control with a 19-9 run.
Cal was led by Joanna Nist, who had 14 kills and 10 digs. Renata Silva had 38 assists.
The Lady Knights travel to Edinboro Friday, September 26 for another PSAC match. The contest will begin at 7 p.m.
