CALIFORNIA, Pa. - The Gannon volleyball team lost in three games at 19th-ranked California (Pa.) Friday night. The Vulcans won by scores of 25-19, 25-14, and 25-20.
Gannon (11-14, 2-9 PSAC) was led by
Ashley Tubbs (Meadville, Pa./Meadville), who had seven kills and five digs.
Maire Prybyl (Mars, Pa./North Catholic) and
Alex DelPiombo (Monroe, Mich./St. Mary's Catholic Central) each had 10 assists.
Cal (33-1, 11-0 PSAC), ranked first in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region, won their 17th consecutive match. With the win, the Vulcans clinch the top seed in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament. Cal also beat the Lady Knights September 23 at Gannon in three games.
The Lady Knights will play their final home game of the season Friday, November 7, hosting Indiana (Pa.). The 7 p.m. match will mark the final game for Gannon seniors Ashley Tubbs and Julienne Moots at the Hammermill Center.
