WHEELING, W. Va. - The Gannon volleyball team won two matches Friday at the Wheeling Jesuit Tournament. The Lady Knights defeated Seton Hill (25-17, 25-17, 18-25, 25-16) in four games and then took three straight from Alderson-Broaddus (25-11, 25-16, 25-17). Wheeling Jesuit hosted the event.
In the first match, GU (10-10) was led by senior
Ashley Tubbs (Meadville, Pa./Meadville), who had 20 kills.
Maire Prybyl (Mars, Pa./North Catholic) had 51 assists and
Kadie Zimmerman (Essexville, Mich./Garber) led with 12 digs in the contest.
The Lady Knights had their way in the nightcap, sweeping Alderson-Broaddus. Tubbs had 12 kills and nine digs, while Prybyl and freshman
Alex DelPiombo (Monroe, Mich./St. Mary's Catholic Central) combined for 29 assists in the match.
The Lady Knights continue action at the event Saturday, October 18. GU matches up with the host Wheeling Jesuit at 2 p.m.
