Sidare, a sophomore from Rochester, N.Y., provided Gannon with the play of the year to this point as the Golden Knights swept doubleheaders from Pitt-Johnstown and Indiana(Pa.) late last week to move into first place in the PSAC West. With Gannon trailing IUP 4-3 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh and a runner on second in the second game of Friday's doubleheader, she stepped to the plate and launched a home run to straightaway center field to give Gannon a 5-4 win.
The home run was the second of her career and came a day after she hit her first career home run, also a two-run shot, in the sixth inning of a 5-3 win over Pitt-Johnstown. An outfielder/pitcher, Sidare played in four games for the week and had 5 hits in 12 at bats, a .417 average. She drove in four runs and scored five times. Three of her hits went for extra bases, with a double in addition to the two home runs. Sidare is batting .286 on the season in 16 games, with 12 hits in 42 at bats. She has five doubles and a pair of home runs and has driven in eight runs.
