Melvin Blanks capped one of the best seasons ever by a Gannon ballcarrier with his fifth 100-yard effort of the season and sixth of his career as the Golden Knights rallied for a 13-10 win at East Stroudsburg. The junior was also named the PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Week for his efforts. Blanks finished with 176 yards on a career-high 34 carries, adding one reception for seven yards. Gannon kicked the winning field goal following a 12-play, 53-yard drive midway through the fourth quarter. The first ten plays were runs, with Blanks lugging the pigskin eight times for 37 yards. All told, in the second half he accounted for 117 yards on 24 carries. He finished the year with 1,192 yards on 192 carries with 8 TDs. The 1,192 yards ranks fifth in a season. Blanks finished second in the PSAC in rushing and 13th in Division II.
