Senior Megan McCartney (Chicora, Pa. / Karns City) scored the women’s soccer team’s only goal last week, a penalty kick that secured a critical 1-0 road win at Edinboro. It was her second goal of the season and marked the third consecutive game that McCartney has earned a point (with two assists in previous games versus Indiana (Pa.) and Cal U.) McCartney played the full 90 minutes against the Fighting Scots, a feat she had not equaled since the first match of the season back on Sept. 8. The women’s soccer team has locked up a PSAC playoff berth but the remaining two games of the season will determine final postseason seeding.
