Sam East (Jackson Township, N.J. / Saint John Vianney) enjoyed a career night while helping the Gannon football team to a 28-21 overtime victory at Northwood in the season opener. The junior wide receiver hauled in the winning touchdown pass, a 25-yarder from Kory Curtis (Cape Coral, Fla. / Island Coast), on the first play of overtime. It was one of two touchdown receptions on the night, as he added a nine-yarder early in the fourth quarter. East had career highs for receptions (7) and yards receiving (100).
