Samantha Favret helped the Gannon women's swim team finish sixth out of 12 teams at last week's PSAC Championships. The redshirt senior recorded a pair of podium finishes in addition to being a key component for three relay teams. She finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.87 seconds and placed eighth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of two minutes and 7.38 seconds. Both times represented Favret's season-best and met PSAC-qualifying standards. Favret swam the second leg for Gannon's 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished fourth with a time of one minute and 37.05 seconds. She needed only 24.44 seconds to complete her portion of the race. Favret took care of the opening leg for the 200-yard medley and 400-yard medley relay teams. Her 27.08 time in the 200-yard medley led to a team time of 1:48.08, good for an eighth-place finish. Her 57.23 time in the 400-yard medley was the opening segment of a 3:54.65 time that placed sixth. All three relay teams she participated with recorded the lowest Gannon times of the season.
