Costa headlined the Gannon wrestling team's sixth-place showing at last Saturday's 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships that featured four NCAA Division I programs and 40 NCAA Division I wrestlers. The junior finished third in the 184-pound division, winning four of five matches. He easily handled Millersville's Evan Morrill (8-2) and East Stroudsburg's Paul Rallis (20-4), before dropping into the wrestlebacks with a loss to Corey Hazel of NCAA Division I Lock Haven. Costa rebounded with a 6-3 victory against Kutztown's Jeff Reimel, before knocking off Dylan Reynolds of NCAA Division I Edinboro 4-3 in the third-place bout. Ranked second in NCAA Division II Super Regional One and sixth in NCAA Division II, Costa is 5-2 overall this season.
