Petrone hit .417 with a 1.000 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage while leading the Gannon softball team to a perfect 4-0 week. The true freshman led Gannon to a sweep of Mercyhurst with two clutch home runs. She snapped a 1-1 tie during the first game with a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning, leading to a 4-1 victory. In the nightcap, she tied the game at four with a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Lady Knights eventually won 5-4 in 10 innings. Petrone then went 3-for-5 with a run and two RBI during a doubleheader sweep of Slippery Rock last Friday. She owns a seven-game hitting streak, producing a .550 (11-20) average during that span. She hit .625 (5-8) with runners on base and .714 (5-7) with runners in scoring position last week. For the season, Gannon’s starting third baseman is hitting .317 with a team-high six home runs and .598 slugging percentage.
