Cekella propelled the Gannon women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Slippery Rock last Sunday. The Rock was ranked fourth in the United Soccer Coaches Atlantic region rankings and listed among others receiving votes in the national poll. With the match scoreless, Cekella headed in a free kick from Sarah Kaiser with 3:11 left in regulation for a 1-0 victory. The game-winner represented her only shot of the match. Cekella was also instrumental in the midfield during a 2-0 shutout of Shippensburg two days earlier. She has been very efficient with her shot selection, scoring two goals on three shots this season. Both goals were game-winners.
