Martinez hit .500 with a .500 slugging percentage and .538 on-base percentage during three games at the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Softball Tournament last week in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. The junior outfielder finished the event 6-for-12 with one run, one RBI, six total bases and one walk. She hit .625 (5-8) with runners on base, .667 (2-3) with runners in scoring position and .500 (2-4) with two outs. Martinez raised her average eight points to a final .410 mark. She began the tournament by going 1-for-3 with one run during a 4-2 victory against regionally-ranked Shippensburg. Martinez ignited a four-run first inning with a lead-off single. She then went 4-for-5 with one RBI against Bloomsburg. It represented her second career four-hit game, but first in 2017. Martinez recorded a hit during all three PSAC Tournament games, concluding the season with a six-game hitting streak. She led Gannon in average (.410), hits (57), doubles (9), total bases (66), walks (11) and on-base percentage (.468) through 42 games this season. One of only two Lady Knights to start every game this season, Martinez was the only regular starter without a fielding error in 2017.
