Westrick led the Gannon men's cross country team to a second-place finish last Saturday at the Gannon/Mercyhurst Invitational hosted by Pleasant Ridge Park in Fairview, Pennsylvania. The true freshman finished second out of 19 runners, completing the wet 8k course in 27 minutes and 36 seconds. He was Gannon's top runner for the second time this season, but first since the season-opening Fredonia State Invitational. Westrick's second-place finish represented the best 8k performance of his collegiate career.
