Groeppler helped the Gannon swim team finish second out of nine teams last Saturday at the Midseason Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster. The senior recorded Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying times in both the prelims and finals of the 200-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly. In the 100-yard butterfly, he broke the school record with a 49.85 time in the prelims and then re-set the record with a first-place time of 49.84 seconds during the finals. Groeppler finished third in the 200-yard IM and eighth in the 200-yard butterfly. He was also swam the third leg for three relay teams. Groeppler was part of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished third (1:33.89) and the 400-yard medley relay team that placed fifth (3:28.58).
