Turek posted a perfect 3-0 record at 125 pounds last week, helping the Gannon wrestling team win two of three dual meets. The redshirt senior began the week with a 12-3 major decision against Pitt-Johnstown’s Evan Link, the third-ranked wrester in the NCAA Division II Super Region One. Ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II Super Region One and No. 2 nationally, he wasted little time running away with the match against American International's Connor Liebel last Saturday. Turek out-scored Liebel 17-4 during the first period, before recording a 19-4 technical fall in the second period. The Madison, Ohio, native led LIU Post's Tyler Walsh 19-8 during his final bout of the week, before ending the match with a pin. Turek is undefeated this season with an 8-0 overall record and 5-0 dual mark. He won the Mount Union Invitational with his only three non-dual bouts. Seven of his eight victories this season have been decided by major decision, technical fall or pin.
