Blazek was also named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Men's Basketball Player of the Week. It represented his fourth career conference player of the week award. Blazek led Gannon to a perfect 2-0 start in conference play by averaging 18.5 points, five rebounds, 3.5 assists, three three-pointers and 1.5 steals during victories against Slippery Rock (64-51) and Mercyhurst (46-44). The senior guard shot 45.8 percent (11-24) from the field, 42.9 percent (6-14) from three-point range and 100 percent (9-9) from the free throw line during the two-game stretch. The Erie, Pa., native hit a game-winning three-pointer with five seconds left against Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon, turning a deficit into a two-point lead. Blazek led all scorers on both teams with 17 points, accounting for 37 percent of Gannon's scoring. He produced the rivalry game's first five points, before narrowly missing his first career double-double with nine rebounds. Blazek began the week with a season-high 20 points and four assists against Slippery Rock, reaching the 20-point plateau for the 21st time in his four-year career. Similar to the start of the Mercyhurst contest, he netted the first seven points of the Slippery Rock game. The four-year starter jumped over David Morris (1984-88) and into Gannon's all-time top 20 in scoring with his performance against Slippery Rock, finishing the week with 1,145 career points. Blazek has played every minute during all four games this season. He has reached double digits in scoring every game.
