Vargas led the Gannon women's basketball team to a perfect 2-0 week with a road victory at Edinboro (71-50) and a home win against Lock Haven (91-57). The junior forward averaged 16 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 72.2 percent (13-18) from the field. She was also 3-of-4 from both the three-point line and free throw line. Vargas has reached double digits in scoring 14 times this season, despite coming off the bench in all but one game. She scored 13 of her 17 points against Edinboro in the first half as Gannon raced out to a 42-21 halftime lead. She was 5-of-5 from the field and 2-of-2 from three-point range in nine minutes during the first half against the Fighting Scots. Vargas also netted 11 of her 15 points against Lock Haven in the first half.
