Bennett led the Gannon men's soccer team to a perfect 2-0 weekend road trip that went through Millersville and Shippensburg, scoring game-winning goals during both contests. The senior forward recorded three goals, one assist, seven points and two game-winning goals during the two road victories. He opened the scoring at Millersville 3:25 into the match, scoring unassisted on the first shot by either team. Bennett was able to get into open space, before beating the goalkeeper one-on-one for his 40th career goal. He then scored the game-winner in the 95th minute, giving the Golden Knights a 3-2 overtime victory after trailing 2-1 in the second half. The Durban, South Africa, native helped Gannon grab a 1-0 lead at Shippensburg, assisting on a corner kick score 12:20 into the match. Trailing 2-1 in the second half again, Gannon tied the match with 18 minutes to play before Bennett headed the game-winner into the net for his fourth goal of the season with 9:25 remaining. The four-year starter jumped two spots and into seventh place all-time at Gannon with last weekend’s three goals, giving him 42 career scores. Bennett broke a tie with current assistant coach Colin Petersen (1993-96) on Gannon's all-time chart for career points after recording seven points last weekend, giving him sole possession of 10th place with 99 career points. He leads Gannon in goals (6), assists (2), points (14), game-winning goals (2) and game-tying goals (2) through nine matches this season.
