Jones helped the Gannon football team move to 3-0 for the first time since 1994 with a career-high 177 rushing yards and three total touchdowns during a 37-28 victory against Kutztown. It represented the 17th-highest single-game rushing total in school history. Jones initially gave Gannon a 14-0 lead with a two-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. The junior tailback later snapped a 14-14 tie with a three-yard touchdown run with 27 seconds left in the second quarter. He iced the victory with a four-yard touchdown catch on a screen pass to cap the scoring with 4:03 to play. Jones was consistent throughout the game, piling up 100 yards in the first half and 77 yards during the final two quarters. With Gannon leading 30-28, Jones rushed for 40 yards and caught a four-yeard touchdown pass during a nine-play, 64-yard drive that ended the scoring. He helped the Golden Knights produce a 37:12-22:48 edge in time of possession, including an 11:56-3:04 advantage during the fourth quarter. Gannon held the ball for 22:49 of the second half's 30 minutes. Jones has rushed for 438 yards and six touchdowns during the first three games after entering the season with only 28 career rushing yards.
