Neighbors earned her second consecutive Gannon Athletics Female Student-Athlete of the Week after averaging 14 points, 3.5 three-pointers, 2.5 rebounds and one assist during two victories last week against California (Pa.) and Seton Hill. The sophomore guard shot an impressive 77 percent (7-9) from behind the arc and 75 percent (9-12) from the field. She accounted for 11 of the team's 15 bench points during a 65-57 victory at California (Pa.) last Wednesday, snapping the Vulcans' five-game win streak. The victory also marked the Lady Knights' first win at the Convocation Center in program history. In a one point-contest, Neighbors buried a three-pointer with 3:46 remaining to give the Lady Knights a four-point cushion late in the contest. Down the stretch, Neighbors hit another three-pointer to give the Lady Knights the insurance they needed en route to the victory. Running out to an early 18-4 lead over the Vulcans, Neighbors tallied eight of the Lady Knights' points during the run. In the Lady Knights' 64-53 win over visiting Seton Hill last Saturday, Neighbors netted a career game-high 17 points along with two assists and three rebounds. Neighbors shot 4-for-6 from behind the arc to account for nearly half of the Lady Knights' treys. As a key reserve, she accounted for more than half the Lady Knights' 29 bench points. Neighbors and the bench tallied 15 of the team's 26 first-half points, reviving the Lady Knights' offense. Trailing 9-6 with 13:56 left in the first half, Neighbors tallied her first three of the day as part of an 8-0 Lady Knights' run. Six of Neighbors' eight first-half points came from behind the arc. Her third three of the opening frame with seven seconds left limited the Griffins' lead to one entering the break, 27-26. In the second half, the sophomore pushed the Lady Knights' lead to eight twice, hitting from long range each time. With 4:05 left, Neighbors' visit to the foul line gave the Lady Knights their first double-digit lead of the game, which sealed any chance of a Seton Hill rally.
