Papich captured the final Gannon University Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor for 2013. The senior forward helped the No. 2 Gannon women's basketball team remain undefeated through 12 games with three victories against Mansfield (91-65), Lock Haven (95-64) and Bloomsburg (65-63). She averaged 16 points, 4.7 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and 1.7 steals during the three-game stretch. Papich shot 50 percent (15-30) from the field and 85 percent (17-20) from the free throw line during the week. Her most important effort of the season arguably came last Saturday at defending PSAC champion Bloomsburg. Trailing 63-59 with less than two minutes to play, Papich cut the deficit in half with a lay-up. She then recorded a steal and assisted on another lay-up that tied the game with 38 seconds left. After Bloomsburg missed a shot on their next possession, Papich scored the game-winner off a spin move over two defenders with three seconds left. She finished the game with 18 points, five assists and four rebounds. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native went off for 22 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals during Gannon's previous game against Lock Haven. Papich has reached double digits in scoring eight times during 12 games this season.
