Turek, ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division II Super Region One and sixth nationally, finished fifth in the 125-pound bracket at the 35th Midwest Classic last weekend. The redshirt junior has finished fifth or better during all three events this season, finishing fourth at the NCAA Division I-heavy PSAC Championships and first at the Mount Union Invitational. He captured fifth place at the 35th Midwest Classic by winning five of seven matches, improving to 10-4 this season. Turek recorded victories during the run against Western State's Dammion Heard (10-5), Upper Iowa's Chris Paulus (12-3 major decision), Limestone's Alexander Battaglia (9-3), Ashland's Dalton Howard (Pin 4:02) and Maryville's Brandon Oshiro (11-5). He defeated Oshiro in the fifth-place match.
