Herold helped the Gannon baseball team earn a split of its four-game series against Lock Haven with a one-hit shutout during Saturday’s final game. The redshirt senior took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before Anthony Kyne singled up the middle with one out. His only walk of the day followed the single to put runners on first and second, but Herold struck out Brian Zysset and got Jose Diaz to fly out to end Lock Haven's only real threat of the contest. He recorded his second complete game and first shutout of the season after allowing only the fifth-inning single while striking out eight and walking one. Herold retired the side in order during the second, third, fourth, sixth and seventh innings. He remained perfect at 4-0 while lowering his season earned run average to 0.87 in 20 2/3 innings.
