Blake has been named Gannon co-Female Student-Athlete of the Week. The sophomore forward was named 2013 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Atlantic Regional Most Outstanding Player after averaging 12.7 points and 8.7 rebounds during three games. She shot 59.1 percent (13-22) from the field while adding five assists and three steals. Her crowning moment of the tournament came during the championship game when she recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Seven of those rebounds came on the offensive glass. Blake reached double digits in scoring during all three regional games, posting 15 points in the opening round against Fairmont State and 11 points against Indiana (Pa.) during the second round. Tied at 27 in the championship game against California (Pa.), Blake scored nine consecutive points by herself to give Gannon a 36-27 lead with 3:34 to play. The personal run spurred Gannon to a 50-47 victory and a berth in next week’s NCAA Division II Elite Eight in San Antonio, Texas.
