McDaniels led the Gannon women’s water polo team to a 3-1 record last weekend, going 3-0 at the Grove City Tournament before suffering a hard-fought 10-5 loss to NCAA Division I Harvard. The sophomore began the week with two goals, two assists, two steals and an earned kickout during a 14-3 victory against NCAA Division I Virginia Military Institute at the Grove City Tournament. The decision avenged an earlier 14-11 loss against VMI. McDaniels then erupted for a team-high five goals during a 15-6 victory against Washington & Jefferson at the Grove City Tournament, scoring at least one goal during every quarter. She added three steals, an assist and three earned kickouts against the Presidents who were ranked third in the latest CWPA Division III poll. McDaniels finished the week with a goal, two steals and two earned kickouts against Harvard during a match that was a one-goal difference late in the third quarter. The weekend matches were McDaniels' first of the season with the team after missing the first three contests while finishing the Gannon swimming season.
