Sazama's impressive offensive numbers last weekend included averaging 6.71 points, 5.64 kills, 2.71 digs, 0.93 aces and a .432 hitting percentage. The senior outside hitter recorded at least 17 kills and finished with a hitting percentage of .340 or better during all four matches. Leading Gannon to a 3-1 weekend, her 94 total points were nearly 50 more than any other Lady Knight and accounted for exactly one-third of the team's total (282). Her 79 kills during the four matches equaled 38 percent of the team's total.
Sazama started the weekend with 22 kills and seven aces against West Virginia State. The 22 kills came on just 35 attempts to account for an impressive .543 hitting percentage. In addition, the 29.5 points she scored set a new career high. Sazama finished with 17 kills, eight digs and a .464 hitting percentage during a 3-0 sweep of Lake Erie.
The St. Louis, Mo., native recorded back-to-back double-doubles Saturday with 17 kills and 13 digs against Holy Family, before adding 23 kills and 14 digs against Ohio Dominican. The 23 kills against Ohio Dominican tied her career high. Sazama also added two block assists against Holy Family.
